Should Abortion Be Illegal

More and more modern people now have literal attitudes toward sex, taking one-night stand for granted. Then, abortion has become a controversial issue between young women and religious groups nowadays. Although many religious groups strongly disapprove of abortion and see it as another kind of murder, I still consider that it is time for us to take abortion in a positive aspect in order to solve some urgent problems.
Many antiabortionists believe that abortion will harm women’s lives and reproductive organs, causing a lot of health problems in the future. At worst, some women can not bear child again or may even die if the abortion surgery fails. However, I can’t agree with their ideas. I think the government should set a complete abortion system to assure women’s safety, and let them receive the abortion with good medical care. After all, there is no use forbidding abortion because those people who want to get rid of their children will search for illegal in the hands of unlicensed doctors to abort unwanted children, but they risk their lives. As a consequence, the government’s responsibility is to protect women instead of putting people be in danger, and the officials should go with stream to change their attitudes toward abortion.
Outlawing abortion will increase a lot of teenage mothers who do not have enough money and ability to raise their children. Those girls are unmarried and they do not have a complete family for their newborn babies. Sometimes they do not even know how to take care of a child. If a young mother determines to receive an abortion operation, a safe and legal abortion should be available at a fair price to her, and performed in a safe and legal surrounding by competent medical professionals. In contrast, poor women who can not afford the expensive abortion service and are often forced to seek unqualified abortion under unsafe, degrading condition.
A legal abortion can reduce a number of babies who have genetic diseases or are born addicted to heroine, cocaine and alcohol. By the advanced medical technology, an expectant mother can know beforehand whether her baby is healthy or not. Illegal abortion will force the mother- to- be have no choices to born handicapped babies or damaged to drugs, and the babies may become a troublesome burden for the whole family. To bring up those disabled children will cost a lot of money, and the mothers have to spend double time taking care of the babies. It is a torture for not only the mothers but also the babies. Therefore, access to legal and safe abortion can decrease the number of babies born with incurable and congenital birth defects.
Moreover, illegal abortion can not let women have rights to choose whether they want to give birth to the babies or not, and be responsible for their own decisions. Although the constitution guarantees people’s free will, it will be easily violated if the legislators fight against abortion. Worst of all, outlawing abortion will increase the human population and then add up the burden on the overtaxed environment. To ban abortion will cause misery, pain, grief and suffering to those who have already overloaded with too many children.
Though some conservative people oppose to legalize abortion, many researches and statistics prove that moderately support abortion can not only release some people’s pressures but also decrease the overcrowded human population. Consequently, we should not solely follow the traditions or religious regulations to ban abortions. On the contrary, if we think over the issue in depth, we will understand that it is necessarily to accept abortion timely.

It is the end of the semester, and I suddenly feel that time passes so quickly. I have stayed in my college for two years. When I saw the graduate ceremony yesterday and took pictures with my school sister, I know that two years later I will also leave from this school. I started to feel that I do not study hard in these two years. And I think that if it is time to graduate from school, can I prepare well to go to work. I feel anxious and spur myself to work harder, pressing myself to improve my foreign languages’ ability. Summer vacation is coming soon, I begin to plan how to use these three months well. Most of my classmates go aboard to practice their English, they plan to go to the school and speak English with the foreign students who come from different countries. Although I can not go to the Australia or America like my friends, I still can learn English myself by reading about TOEFL and listening to the studio classroom. I hope that I can successfully pass the TOEFL exam and be a transfer student to America.
And now I am trying hard to find a part time job in Kaohsiung. I will be uneasy if I do not have any income during the summer vacation. Therefore, I surf the Internet to find any chances to be an English tutor. I want to teach the high school students because I can earn a lot of money easily. And the high school student will not be so mischievous like the elementary school’s student. All in all, I want to gain many social experiences to let myself can adapt to the society easily in the future.

I want to feed a dog recently. Many people ask me that why I must feed a dog now? They think that I am a student and I do not have enough money and time to take care of it. However, I consider that I have earned some money now by being a tutor. I have confidence to raise my pet in a good environment. Moreover, my roommates and boyfriend are now strongly support me to feed a dog. They can give me a hand when I do not have time to take care of my dog. Therefore, I make a determination to feed a dog. However, my mom does not agree that I feed a dog. She says that I must pay more effort on the dog rather than on the homework. And my dad extremely hates dog. Although I try to persuade him to let me feed a pet, he refuses me without hesitation. However, I do not want to care what their opinions but just do what I want.
Therefore, I surf the Internet and download the information about dogs. But I immediately become depressed when I see most of my favorite dogs have genetic diseases. I am afraid that if my pet have any disease and suffer any pain, I will be anxious and sad. I will treat my pet just like my son, giving him the best environment. I know there are many barriers which wait me to deal with, but I will insist on my belief. I seldom ask my parents to give me motor or computer, I respect them and I do not want to make any problem which let them worry. But this time, I will not give up.

I saw a famous book named the sister’s keeper in theses days. Since I borrow it from my roommate, I was deeply attracted by the book. The book was not like the ordinary novel, it discussed about a younger sister was born to protect her sister’s health. Due to her sister, Kate, was founded that she had blood cancer, Kate’s parents were trying hard to let their young daughter survive. Trying a lot of medical treatment, Kate didn’t recover but sick ill. Therefore, Kate’s parents decided to born another child to provide Kate appropriate blood, or even the organ. Compared with the ordinary character, Anne, strived to fight for her own right. She didn’t want to be control by her parents. She felt that she was isolated by her parents, because they put most attentions on their sick daughter. Hence, Anne decided to seek for a lawyer’s help, let the court give her the right which she should have. I deeply thought about this problem which happened in the story when I started to read the book. It was a controversial issue in the modern society. Because the advanced medical treatment, many parents were allowed to make a perfect baby which they wished. I considered that the problem which happened in the story may also happen in the real world. Many test-tube babies were expected to save their sisters or brothers. Although they did not have any diseases, they must go to the hospital to donate their blood as often as possible. They did not have any chance to say no, but were seem to do what they must do. As a consequence, I was surprised that the author could write in a totally different concept, and it is why let me spend so many hours in order to finish it as soon as possible.

I went sight seeing with friends to Mio-Li last week. I had never been there before, so I was extremely excited for what I had seen. Our mainly purposes were going to pleasure the beautiful flowers, which only blossomed in April and May. However, I suddenly found that the primitive countryside was filled with the unique Hakka culture. Although my mom was a Mai –Nhon Hakka, there was a big difference between the two places. Mio-Li was particular with Lei tea; on the contrary, Mei-Nhon was familiar with the noodles which were made by the rice. And it was clearly to hear that the accent between two places is really different. All in all, the delicacy was delicious that let me can not forget it. After the lunch, we were going to the Shun-Shing train station, which was abandoned and became a famous scenic spot. My friends and I were standing on the rail and taking hundreds of pictures. Then, we walked into a cave which the trains had ever driven through it. Inside the cave, there were several signals which were showing us the history about the train station for a hundred year ago. I started to know that the train station had broken due to a serious earthquake but it finally recovered, it let me praise ancestors’ developed technique. In the end, we went to see the beautiful flowers, which were called the snow of April. We used the fallen flowers to make a pretty wreath, and took a lot of pictures with those flowers. It was a precious memory for me, and I hoped that I can go there again in the next year.

Since I became a tutor, I start to learn how to teach my student. However, I found that I still could not teach grammar well to let my student absolutely understand. My little student is naughty and she can not sit on the chair docilely. She has no patience to listen to me or even finish her homework. Hence, I have to pay an effort to let her calm down and try to explain to her what the difference between helping verb is and be verb. Sometimes she does not do well on the grammar exams or mid-term exams though I reviewed the grammar with her last night. I will become nervous and do not know how to explain to her parents why she does not get a good grade in the exam. Since then, I finally understood what my mom had told me before. She said that it is hard to do a job after she became a pink collar. Mom said that she had to try her best to accomplish the work and be harmonious not only with colleagues but also boss. Although my student’ mom agreed that I could punish her if she was out of control, I still do not want to shout or even beat her. I prefer to treat her like my little sister. Therefore, I will feel depressed when she does not do well on her schoolwork and want to quit my job. I know that I do not have the ability to teach student, and may be I am not appropriate to be a teacher. Sometimes I will sympathy that little girl that she has to finish so many homework after school though she is only 7. I think my tutor experience will be a good opportunity to let me cultivate my patience and improve my teaching skill.

I have promised my friend that I will go to Taipei to visit her. Therefore, I take some special food for my best friend this weekend. She takes me to the most famous night market in Taipei, eating a lot of delicious food and buying clothes. I am very excited and found that the night market is really different from the night market in Taichung. Then, my friend brings me to a market where we can buy a lot of cheap clothes. I have never seen so many clothes are put in the plastic bags. While entering in the store, it seems that we are walking into the traditional market. We have to squat down on the floor to select for the clothes, and bargain with the vendor. It will be a very special experience for me. Moreover, my friend and I always take the subway to our destinations. Since I went to Taichung, I always ride motor to everywhere and seldom take the bus. Hence, I feel that it is really convenient to take the MRT. I will not spend a lot of time to wait for it. Although Kaohsiung has just finished that MRT, I still do not understand how to recognize the signal. By taking the MRT with my friend in these days, I finally know how to take the MRT and I found that it can not only save my precious time but also protect the environment. As a consequence, I should use well the MRT when I go back to Kaohsiung. All in all, I have good impression on Taipei though I do not go to those famous scenic spot. And Taipei has many delicious desserts that attract me to go there as frequent as possible.
